Bucks vs Suns NBA Finals Thread

3 things that have made MKE 1 win away from their first title in 50 years.

1. Paying up to get a big upgrade at PG in Holiday.
2. Bobby Portis taking a big paycut to go play on a contender.
3. Bucks trading to get the defense and leadership of Tucker.
I agree on those 3 but Giannis has matured as a player this year and even more so the last 2-3 months. He’s not forcing the ball in the paint, he patient. Last night was a perfect example. He is probably the best screener on the team and gives Middleton such space. He also kicks the ball out much faster in double teams.

Giannis >> 99 points 20 assists and only 2 turnovers in last 3 games. Let’s that sink in

Things that stood out to me last night
  • Suns shot 55% overall, 68% from 3, 91% from the line and only had 8 turnovers…and lost. Almost unexplainable
  • I love Monte Williams as a coach but only 2 Suns shot FT last night, Ayton and Booker. Have to be more aggressive
  • Chis Paul is not 100% maybe not even 80%. He’s not attacking the rim and looks unsure on his shot. His hand is really bothering him
  • Brook Lopez might be the worst screen and roll defender in the league
  • Giannis growth as an overall offensive player is incredible
  • Phoenix needs to find a way to get Booker more than 4 shots from 3. On the flip side Bucks close out defense on 3’s is really improved
  • Yes Middleton is elite.
  • The jumbo lineup with Giannis at the 3 needs to be shelved for eternity.
  • Subtle adjustment but Holiday bringing up the ball instead of Giannis let’s them get it the offense earlier
  • Connaughton does not make enough money. His offensive rebound on that leap was as athletic as you get

he had a great game overall last night. and it was really needed.

surprised you didn't mention holiday. 27 points, 13 assists, and probably the single most important play of the game for the bucks.

Good catch. He was just dominant. I guess Middleton stands out more since many fans under appreciate him.

Speaking of Holiday, the play that will go unnoticed but was critical was when he dug out that offensive rebound and left hand flip shot. Oh I loved the steal also but the lob pass was pure guts or as Bill Raferty would say “onions”

that first quarter, it looked like the bucks were going to get blown out. but the bucks responded with 43 points - the second most by a team in a finals quarter in the last 35 years.

Phoenix was just shooting so well. And it’s not like the defense was bad. They hit some damn hard contested shots like Booker over Giannis

Yeah Giannis is showing why he's a elite MVP player. He can take over and dominate when he needs to kick it into that next gear.

Yeah PHX played very well. Just came down to Bucks making plays here and there that was the difference.
