The back injury he suffered was not from punting a football like long claimed but being beat with a paddle while being initiated into the A-Club. Cost him most of his last 2 seasons at Bama and made him a late round pick in which in the end did work out well for him and the Packers but said that his back has never been the same sense.

Some dude in his frat didn't like him, or didn't want to have to compete with him, so they really nailed him in the hazing thing. Nowadays, Bart's boys would take Neidermeyer aside afterwards and show him what's what.
