I look back and remember so many times in the past when it looked like the Badgers were about to end a great season, and it was smashed by the Gophers, who staged an upset. Before that, when the Badgers were looking for credibility from a season, and a win against Minnesota would give them that, it was the Gophers who beat them, and confidence was gone.
Like they said, there was an entire generation of us who watched as Minnesota rained on our parades, and even when we did well - destroyed most of what we gained by beating us when it mattered most, to us.
Hatred? I think so. It's a Minnesota vs Wisconsin thing, and it carries over to the Vikings vs Packers too. Hatred! Like it or not, it's what's at the heart of all really big rivalries. It probably should be called "controlled hatred" though, because we don't attack each other with swords. Yet.... there are times it would feel right, aren't there?
The Badgers win this one 38-13. It's another one of those second half steam-roller jobs. They just wear everyone down, then gob smack them.
