Badger Men's BB Thread 2026

Sources: The NCAA has initiated the final steps to expand the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments to 76 teams. The expansion is on track to be formalized in the upcoming weeks, with mid-May as the target. The 76-team tournaments begin next year.

Didn't see this anywhere.

Badgers have gotten a committment from top-100 player Jalen Brown. He's a 6'4" combo guard ranked #66 nationally by 247Sports. Brown is from Milwaukee and attends Wauwatosa West HS.

He's the first Milwaukee area guy in a while. Hopefully Gard can start to recruit the solid talent from the metro area more successfully.

Missed this in the jumble of news yesterday. Hopefully this helps the Badgers

Three months after winning a national championship, Michigan coach Dusty May is moving to the NBA. He'll coach the Dallas Mavericks next year. Leaves Michigan in a tough position to hire this late. Thay promoted an assistant to "interim" head coach. That probably means he's on a 1 year audition.

Badgers just got a committment from another top-100 player, Baboucarr Ann. He's a 6'5" small forward/wing ranked #84 nationally by 247Sports. Ann is from Minnesota and attends the same HS as Brad Davison.

He's not the only guy from that school. Jack Thelen, a 7'1" 3-star post player has also committed (a little more than a week ago). Gard and UW continue to exploit the Minnesota pipeline.
