There is zero - and I mean ZERO - appetite for any ref labor strife BS right now, not within the league and not among the public.Reports that NFL are planning to hire up to 150 replacement refs in the coming weeks if a deal with the refs union does not get done.
Even more so that it seems that NFL owners have been more than fair with the Refs union. When the fans for a while now have been demanding that the refs improve and the NFL trying to put it into a contract that bad refs will get more training and playoff games will not be given out by seniority anymore and the refs are like nah we want a even bigger raise then offered but you still can't hold us accountable for doin a bad job that will 100% turn the fans against the refs even more. There is zero - and I mean ZERO - appetite for any ref labor strife BS right now, not within the league and not among the public.
This is just a union protecting the lazy and poor performing workers. That results in a bad product on the field and the fan suffers for it. This is not about money this is about the union refusing to be held accountable.I’m always in the side of workers getting everything they can from management/ownership. The NFL is not poor, they can afford it.
The ref union is a bunch of vainglorious a-holes, they don't just want money, they want fame. Fans do not give a damn about them and we want to see less of the refs, not more.Even more so that it seems that NFL owners have been more than fair with the Refs union. I am expecting issues to happen with the replacement refs but we can't allow the regular refs to keep getting away with poor officiating and never be held accountable.
If this was a battle with something like a service workers union I'd be with you, but it isn't. These guys want to force their way into the marketing/recognition pie and it's gross. It's not why they're there.I’m always in the side of workers getting everything they can from management/ownership. The NFL is not poor, they can afford it.
And NFL refs are already very well paid - over $200K for a part time job! This is just a union protecting the lazy and poor performing workers. That results in a bad product on the field and the fan suffers for it. This is not about money this is about the union refusing to be held accountable.
Compared to what the NFL brings in in profit that’s nothing. And NFL refs are already very well paid - over $200K for a part time job!
Then the NFL should move to full time officials. This is just a union protecting the lazy and poor performing workers. That results in a bad product on the field and the fan suffers for it. This is not about money this is about the union refusing to be held accountable.
