FSU OT transfer Lucas Simmons commits to WI
Simmons is an interesting guy. 4-star coming out of high school with elite measurables (6'8"-311#) who never quite lived up to his potential and never cracked the starting line-up in his 2 healthy seasons. The o-line coach who recruited him was fired before last year partly due to a lack of development of his guys.

I suspect he's just looking for a change of scenery and may likely be nothing more than a depth piece, but maybe a well regarded o-line coach like Mateos can bring something out of him. A player who helps fill out the 2-deep at OT for a year (or two?). A roll of the dice kind of guy.

Another 2 guys for the Badgers:

Bryan Jackson, a 6'0"-235# RB from USC. He had 36 runs for 123 yds and 4 TDs last year. A thumper kind of RB to complement Dupree and Sama.

Jaylon Domingeaux, a 6'2"-210# WR from SE Louisiana. Had 52 receptions for 857 yds and 11 TDs for a decent FCS program. Who knows how this translates to the P4 level.

PJ Wilkins a 6'5"-340# IOL has commited to Wisconsin. He played 186 snaps in 2025 at LG for Ole Miss, appearing in all 14 games. Clearly he is not a starter, but has had some snaps other than just on special teams. (as an aside, he is the nephew of NBA legend Dominique Wilkins)

Started the season starting 1st 2 games before being made a backup. Has 2 years of eligibility left

Marvin Burks Jr, a 6'1"- 204# free safety has committed. Burks started at S for Mizzou last year. He had a solid 2025 season, recording 49 total tackles, 1 PBU, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble

Hammond Russell IV, a 6'3"-308# DT has committed. He was a starter/rotational player at West Vifginia last season with 13 tackles, 2.5 TFL, and 2 sacks. Seems like a solid rotational player along the defensive line.

And UW DT Charles Perkins goes into the portal. Bucky is just treading water.
