2025 NFL Season Thread

Who would have thought after week 11 the Chicago Bears would be leading the NFC North.

Their schedule gets much tougher for the last 7 games . . . they have not beaten a team with a winning record, and 6 of the 7 remaining games are against teams with a winning record. By comparison, the Packers have 4 out of the remaining 7 against teams with a winning record.

a glimmer of hope for us. but, they have indeed been playing well. it will be interesting to see if they can keep it going. they have a confident swagger and that could keep their momentum going.

I don't think they're a particularly good team or playing particularly well. I do think they've had some good energy which has carried them, and they've had a hell of a lot of good luck. They play like an up and comer but I don't think they're as good as their record.

There are a lot of new stat categories out there but across sports, point differential is one of those gold standard ones that just seems to always capture an accurate high level overview of the field. NFCN standings right now are Bears, Packers, Lions, Vikings. However, Chicago is -4 in pt diff. Packers are +44. Lions are +76. Vikings -14. I think if you stacked those teams by pt diff that's likely how the season shakes out, no?
 
I believe the Pack needs 11 wins to get into the playoffs.

The Pack is 6-3-1.

Our last 7 games are:
  • Bears Twice
  • Vikings Twice
  • Lions Once - Away on Thanksgiving.
  • Ravens Once
  • Broncos Once
Of all those teams, the Vikings are the only ones probably not fighting for the playoffs.

So if you give us those 2. The Pack is 8-3-1 and must win 3 against the Bears twice, the Lions once, the Ravens once, and the Broncos once. It's doable, but I think the Pack has to sweep the Vikings and Bears to do it.

What concerns me is that the Vikings are still playing hard, while the Pack just seems to show up. The game against the Vikings this week is do or die for the Pack's playoffs hopes, but I doubt they see it that way.

i was watching that game. the umpire was replaced by the backfield judge for the remainder of the game, meaning that there was one less referee than usual. to make matters even worse, the onfield playclock that qbs look at went out shortly after that so then they were not only short a ref, they had to keep the players informed of the time left to snap the ball verbally. that game was a referee's nightmare.
