I have a very hard time believing that Fields wouldn't have stayed if they actually wanted him.Report that Aaron Rodgers was third choice for Pittsburgh. First wanted Stafford but he wanted to much and ended up staying in LA anyways. Then Pitt wanted to keep Fields but he ended up going to NY. So left Pitt with Rodgers or bust.
I think they did not want to pay Fields what the Jets paid. Did he not get like $30 million from NY?I have a very hard time believing that Fields wouldn't have stayed if they actually wanted him.
$30m guaranteed for two years, yeah. In the QB market that's high end back up money. If Pitt thought he was starting capable they easily could've done something like that. The fact that they didn't tells me he wasn't exactly their top choice.I think they did not want to pay Fields what the Jets paid. Did he not get like $30 million from NY?
I'm not aware of other teams doing this either. Stewart is already a project, to play contract games at this stage and keeping him off the field is a step towards scuttling his career before it takes off. And all at the same time they're playin games with Trey Hendrickson is just bizarre.Shemar Stewart still holding out. Browns are trying to put in contract what many teams have for deals aka morals clause. Aka you get suspended or do something bad off the field the team can void future guarantees. Browns have not done this before and have been trying it out on Stewart who refuses to become the first Bengal to sign such a contract.
I think Hendrickson they screwed up. They waited to pay him and the edge market blew up. Heard they were offering $28 million a year but top guys are now at $40 million. Cincy pays him $40 million a year a couple years they probably are screwed on cap with Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Hendrickson all making big money and have to go dirt cheap on rest of the team.I'm not aware of other teams doing this either.
