2025 Badger Football Thread

Now can UW retain talent? Nearly all there best players in the 2026 class have flipped and will any more. How many good players they have now enter the portal and leave. UW says they will spend more on NIL but how much more and will any good kid still want to come to a 4 win team in the portal?
 
Embarrassing season

I give Fickell credit for one thing....
Players kept playing hard.

Beyond that I really don't know where to have any faith.

Defense was very good most of the year.

But this program IS NOT in a good place and it doesn't feel like it is close.
 
Here's a stat... Badgers' offense had 169 first downs this season, ranked last in all of D1 football. Very rarely does a staff return with these kinds of numbers. UW looks really dumb and complacent. Back to the 80's.

That is an eye opener. Unfortunately, the astronomical buyouts makes complacency more of the norm because of the financial hit

Yep, Seems you don't see many of these large buyouts only at big name schools with the big name coaches. Fickell agent did his job on that contract and got UW to way overpay in a buyout.
