2025 Badger Football Thread

I wonder though how many of these kids remember to pay taxes on there NIL money and how many if they get audited never paid taxes on it
I'm still waiting for the legal case making the argument that admission to a school or maintaining academic eligibility is an unfair limitation on the athlete.

Because you know there have to be guys out there who aren't academically eligible because they've never actually completed a semester - transferring in and out without finishing even the ridiculous classes they make just for athletes.

Former NFL player James Brooks was found to be illiterate during a court hearing for delinquent child support payments, as he stated he could not read the court documents. The revelation came to light after he owed over $100,000 in child support and could not read the court papers related to his debt. When asked by a judge how he graduated from Auburn University, Brooks famously responded, "Didn't have to go to class".

Let's stop right here, SCOTUS already ruled on this stuff.....NIL isn't going anywhere... The portal stuff the NCAA and SEC are monkeying with is already borderline contempt of court.
They can market their services at a price... period. College programs will need to adapt or be left behind.

I agree. The University programs - in all sports, I believe Women's Volleyball is extremely competitive - need to learn how to operate in this new environment.

I was just trying to show that it's happening everywhere - Indiana # 2 in the Country with a huge donor raising NIL money - and not just Wisconsin as some piled more gloom and doom on Bucky Football and Coach Fickell.

Since they have zero OL they need to find some.

Boston College offensive line commit Brady Bekkenhuis set for Wisconsin official visit."I love Wisconsin's play style."

College recruiting is a Battle Royale of the Universities. You don't know which kid is going where until he runs out of the tunnel in a uniform.

Kinda makes it unwatchable for me. Used to live the game and still do to some extent but it's become about who can pay out the most. Not many will be able to compete in the long term. I'm not against, nor am I saying, players shouldn't get paid. Just with current rules, it's a free for all and these rosters will be built with cash, with a select few, being able to compete for championships

congratulations to the badgers beating a top 25 team for only their fourth win of the season. it at least gives them some hope for recruiting and a better year next year. that is if their best players decide to stay.

Badgers are ass. No one good wants to stay on this team. They see the schedule next year and know it's going to be ugly. If you are a 18-20 year old kid do you want to stay on a team that might win at best 4 games next year and the coaching staff future is uncertain?
Well UW has a chance to beat my prediction of my games when I made this post in December of last year.

UW and Under Armour have reached a 10 year contract extension.
