2025 Badger Football Thread

Wisconsin has landed a wide receiver in the transfer portal, Dekel Crowdus. He's 5’11, 175 pounds, and caught 16 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns as a junior for Hawaii, an average of 25 yards per catch.

A former four-star recruit coming out of high school. Crowdus provides the Badgers with some depth at wide receiver. He was initially in the class of 2021 at Kentucky, before transferring to Hawaii for his junior year. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Wisconsin has received a commitment from three-star linebacker Aden Reeder, for the 2026 class. An Ohio native , the 6’3, 210-pound linebacker chose Wisconsin over Iowa and Minnesota.

Reeder was on campus for the Badgers’ Junior Day in March.

In this thread there had previously been a discussion on Amari Latimer, a high school running back from Georgia who had Wisconsin in his final-6 along with FSU, Texas, Georgia, Michigan and Tenn. There were some questions about how and why UW ended up in that high level company.

Was listening to a podcast about UW's recruitment of him and now it makes even more sense - Amari Latimer's older brother Geimere Latimer is already a Badger. Geimere was a 2025 portal addition for UW and the podcast speculated that based on spring ball he has the inside track to be the starting slot/nickel CB. Hopefully Amari follows his brother to Madison.

Was reading a article Badgers AD pretty much screwed the program over with the Fickell contract. He has 7 years left and will get $100K increase each year. The 2025-26 year he is getting $7.7 million. If he is fired before the end of the 2029 season he gets 80% of the remaining contract. After 2029 if falls to a fixed $6.48 million. So the Badgers AD pretty much flushed this team down the gutter locking in 5 more years of Luke Fickell as HC. If the Badgers have a 3-4 win season next year which is very possible with the schedule they have fans will be going nuts screaming for Fickell head but because of the buyout no way will UW be paying over $37 million to buy him out.

I would be shocked and just for reference in terms of recruiting....two weeks ago I stopped in at the Iron Pig BBQ in town( end of spring work outs for HS FB IN GA) and there were coaches from UGA, Tenn, Auburn, and Tech all eating lunch. GA HS kids are getting sniffs at a high level... the guy who owns the place and I go to church together, he said Michigan coaches were there the day before.
That used to be a big deal...now it didn't even make the paper.

He has 47 offers, and so far, UW is favored because of what you said, but the SEC schools aren't going away anytime soon.
