2024 Draft Thread

A draft where Barton and the top CBs were gone at 25 but Kool-Aid was still there in Rd2. Trotter is a little undersized but fits a position of need. DTD is a smaller, highly athletic safety who has played significant snaps both as a deep safety and in the slot.

Interestingly the McKinney FA signing looks like validation for people who like Kam Kinchens as a prospect. McKinney also tested slow and unathletic. Maybe the number one attribute for playing FS isn’t timed speed but rather field vision + reaction time.

I haven't ruled Kinchens out as a pick. I'm throwing out the combine stats, and saying he's going to drop, so that means he could be grabbed possibly in the 3rd round? Kind of a guess there, but if it's true, I think he'd be a steal. He could learn from McKinney, and team with him on the field, as the season progressed. A win-win situation in my book.

But, with McKinney in the fold, they have opened up some options for those first 3 picks. It could change even more, if they come up with another FA who can contribute immediately.

Edgerrin Cooper will have a top 30 visit with the Packers.

25: R1 P25 CB Nate Wiggins - Clemson
41: R2 P9 C Graham Barton - Duke
57: R2 P25 LB Payton Wilson - NC State
88: R3 P24 S Tykee Smith - Georgia
91: R3 P27 OT Blake Fisher - Notre Dame
125: R4 P25 RB Ray Davis - Kentucky
169: R5 P34 WR De'Corian Clark - UTSA
201: R6 P25 CB Willie Roberts - Louisiana Tech
219: R6 P43 DL Jordan Jefferson - LSU
245: R7 P25 LB Darius Muasau - UCLA
255: R7 P35 K Will Reichard - Alabama

I still would not mind if Kichens slide down to the Packers pick at 58.

25. Best OL on board
41. Edgerrin Coop34
58. Kichens

I would have big smile if that happened Though I know for some reason lot of Packer fans are still drooling over DeJean. Just looking more he seems he will have to move to safety and I think you can find a better safety on the board.

I could be way off here but I think Kinchens would be lucky to go at 58, especially to GB. Not to say he can't play. But I think they'd prefer to let some other team risk drafting him on day 2 and then try to sign him in FA in a couple years if he works out.

by your own admission it's not a risk because there top FA signing has the same speed....outside of that he's a better player in terms of skill set then the vet they just acquired. I might not know much but having coached and played that position I think your over thinking it a bit
