2024-25 Milwaukee Bucks Season Thread

bucks are rapidly falling in the standings. here's a look at how they played vs the nuggets:

I expect a 1 and done in playoffs and Dame is done in MKE traded in the off-season and its the start of blowing up the Bucks one more season for Giannis in MKE and he's gone and back to being the Siberia of the NBA

So how can Giannis not even be considered for MVP? He's being treated as a afterthought as they say it's only a 2 person race even though his stats are just as good if not better then the 1st two guys.

The Bucks had the teams largest ever come back last night since they started tracking 4th quarter come backs in 1996-97 season. The Bucks were down 24 points last night and came back to win. The Bucks had a 40 to 13 point 4th quarter scoring.

looks like portis had a big night in his first game back after a 25-game suspension.

Playing for the first time since the All-Star break after a positive test for the painkiller Tramadol caused his suspension, Portis had 18 points and 10 rebounds while helping the Bucks produce one of the greatest comebacks in franchise history.

According to Sportradar, this marked only the fifth time that a team has won a game it trailed by at least 24 points in the fourth quarter since 1996-97, which is when the NBA started tracking play-by-play data.

Portis’ teammates credited him for the rally.

“We got our man back,” guard Kevin Porter Jr. said. “Bobby, man, he gave us life.”

Portis made a steal that led to a basket that put Milwaukee ahead for good. After pulling down a rebound that led to his game-clinching free throws in the final minute, a raucous Fiserv Forum crowd chanted “Bobby,” continuing a ritual that started during the Bucks’ 2021 title run.

he's considered a distant #3 because he's just not as flashy as the other 2, and the Bucks record has been unimpressive most of this season.

For all season SGA and Jokic were considered the only two players in MVP race. SGA probably gets it because his team won 70 games.

Giannis punished because his team won't get to 50 wins.

Giannis has no chance of winning the MVP but he's going to clear the 65-game threshold and finish third in this race as the only player in history, at present, to average at least 30 points, 11 rebounds and six assists on better than 60% shooting. Last week, Antetokounmpo became the first player to record 70 points, 30 assists and 30 rebounds over a two-game span since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968.
