Only thing is to get a deal done is if Jackson would try to play the I can just play year 5 and the two FT. He could make $90-100 million by playing the next 3 years. It's a injury risk on his part but paints the Ravens into a corner paying that much money for 3 years.
Baltimore is in a corner either way. And again neither side has any urgency at this point. Both sides would love to see what Burrow gets or Herbert gets. Risk / reward on both sides and a also again , if they want an alternative it’s not a pretty picture

Though is Burrow and Herbert a better player then Jackson? If they get say 5 years 250 with 200 guaranteed and 150 at signing would you give Jackson more then that?

That’s a very subjective question. Have to look at cap implications for one and then different organizations evaluate players differently. All 3 of these guys will reset and market in some way.

IMO a deal like Mahomes is fair to both sides. Large roster bonuses that are likely always to be converted into SB money to help get cap space so you are going to get paid each year but helps the team with the cap.

And if it’s not converted he’s SOL. He got $63m guaranteed at signing which is so far below market value it’s laughable. He signed a bad contract especially the length.

Wonder if Mahomes decides with new deals he's underpaid asks for new deal.

And remember this point when “contract fairness” is discussed. Each organization gets $380m or so each year from the league in shared revenue. It’s not coming out of some owners Chase bank account. Structure matters more that APY

Well his cap hit went up $28m this year so a restructure is due at some point just based on structure and cap implications.

IMHO, they restructure after the 2025 season when the original pro-rata signing bonus drops off the books

The narrative that his game is built on his legs is a bit oversold. Sure he make plays with his legs but his stats don’t show a 1 trick pony either. Orlovsky mentioned this stat …
“Lamar-2nd-highest rated passer when trailing last season (behind Rodgers). His 7 wins, 4 required a 4th-quarter comeback

And any QB who get a major knee injury is SOL. I can count on one had pure pocket passers in the league now who don’t use the legs to make plays. That’s a function of spread systems at the D1 level. And if you don’t sign him what’s the alternative?
Well, Baltimore is a running team first - that's kind of a given. The fact that in 2021 Lamar had only the 25th most passing yards reinforces that. So the question is - should Baltimore pay him "elite" money if he's at the bottom of the league in passing yards?
