2021 Off Season Thread

No. It’s not about 1 player and this doom and gloom that it’s the 70’s and 80’s all over again are well somewhat laughable
To me though I think you got to pay to keep talent if marginal talent you think about it top 5 talent you don't be cheap on.

The list of talented players that get 2nd contracts from the team is long, but the list that get 3rd contracts is pretty short (but growing in recent years). This will be Adam’s 3rd contract, but I think the like him enough to keep him.
Yep you only get a few special players that are good enough to get to a 3rd or more deal.

We're tossing out a fantastic talent at QB with the bathwater and worried about a fantastic talent wide receiver?

Our frickin' brain trust put this in motion, but then got cold feet. The trade value for both Rodgers and Adam's is high now.

My Nostradamus self foresees a dysfunctional season that drops both their values.

I don't want either to go, but Rodgers has to be traded at top value. And, if we trade Rodgers, why keep Adams?

We could get a haul of football players that could combine with our new QB for the future. Victory to the bold.

♥️

As was noted previously he’s pushing 30 years old and he has not played a full season since 2016. He reaching that point that he’s pushing Father Time. Prior to 2020 season he’s missed more games than Julio Jones.

It a cost/benefit decision

Our brain trust has / had a plan and a timeline but never cold feet. But I digress

You can make a case you need a legit #1 WR even with Love at QB. My issue is age / value past 2 years. It’s not a simple thing

Our brain trust needs to recognize that the factors they based their strategy on changed and their timeline changed. The iron is hot now

Thing is Jones is what 34? People still consider him a top WR? I think we can get 3 really good years out of him on a deal.

Because if you trade Adams and Rodgers you might as well say this team won't win nothing and move on from guys like Clark and Smith also why pay them if you don't think you will win.
