Packers 2026/27 Season Thread

Resigning offensive linemen who didn't protect our Quarterback and then didn't come to his aid after he got cheap shotted is a waste of money
you must not watch must football these days. refs don't penalize the cheap shots, but they definitely penalize anyone who retaliates.

You don't have to retaliate immediately.

And, you could man up and refuse to get run over again.

And, And, sometimes it's worth 15 yards to let your opponent know you're not a panzy. Cause guess what, the entire Bears team thinks the Packers are panzies that they will eventually pummel

That sounds great, but when you went and got 1 guy for two firsts and a wad of cash, you put yourself in the beggars can't be choosers position. Besides that, the pool on OL isn't great this offseason. Just bad juju all the way around.

and that's why we kept rhyan. there are some decent centers available in the draft that won't be immediate starters. so you keep rhyan at center for another year and then start the draft pick at center next year (hopefully).
I don't love Rhyan but I do think there is a good logic to going into the draft without glaring holes. As you say there are some C prospects available, they may or may not make sense at our picks but you don't want to NEED to take them.

he may not be the best center in the nfl, but he was looking better towards the end of the season. and who knows? maybe that improvement will continue. he's got a 3-year deal. if it takes a couple years to get a rookie center up to speed, i think he'll be good enough. if the rookie is ready faster than that, rhyan can always go back to guard. we just have to wait and see how the draft unfolds. i don't really trust gute in the draft tbh.

It's the constant shuffling that gets me. Like, tell these guys what their lane is, prep there and practice there and play there. I don't want another year of trying to mix and match these guys to competence, if they can't play then they can't play, you have to move on.

The Franklin trade and Rhyan signing fill some holes before the draft. Hopefully they make another move or two in FA. You can't go into the draft with huge holes to fill, though sometimes they have, especially during the Ted Thompson era. It forces you to reach to fill those holes.

Issue with Ted was he drafted guys who he thought could play football and they might have not been a fit for the scheme but that was for MM and his staff to figure out.
