The Lacy Paradox

great article... guess RB gets added to the must need in draft category..

But if Lacy returns in shape and has a nice season in 2016 what then? sh)) Ted has been known to take care of his own.

Depends on what he asks for a contract and depends if the Packers feel he was just playing for a contract and will go back to his bad habits or if he has really changed.

I could see TT paying decent money to extend him but it won't be a long contract - probably 3 years max. Maybe Eddie finds a longer deal elsewhere, but I'm not so sure.

Either way I would draft a RB. Don't know about Starks and don't for sure have a #3 RB either - though I liked the little I saw of Crockett. With their short life and regular injury concerns, it's good to take a RB every couple of years in the draft. We are overdue.

Agree 57.
Would have to be a shorter contract with incentives.
I would not pay Lacy a ton.
A. He does not show the Motivation.
B. RB's are not worth the money anymore. It is a different NFL.
C. He is not on the field enough for me. His breathing issues take him off the field in the middle of a drive all the time. Hurts the offensive rhythm.
Draft a RB and hopefully Crockett takes that jump. If Starks stays he stays.

Though any deal for Lacy will need to contain a weight clause that will fine him if he is over a certain weight

RB on the open market have minimal value unless you are are Peterson type who can break a game open.

On top of that there are more quality backs at the NCAA level than QB. Then t he other question is does lacy even want to be in green Bay.

The trouble is not replacing Lacys production, the trouble is getting TT to commit a proper draft pick to a RB that isn't a project.

What RBs has Ted drafted that you would consider a project?
