After most Mocks have a front 7 Defensive player going to the Pack, have just seen this player coming up in Mocks and Kiper/McShay Mock Special.

Alabama WR Jameson Williams. Rated prior to ACL injury as best WR in draft easily by many and possible top 10 pick/talent.

But again the question now is where will he fall to? He won't be able to play until at least second half of season.

In my experience over the years seems to take players a year to come back 100% and that's if there is no setbacks as Baht had. Plus then there's the learning of ML's Offense and If still here, earning AR's trust.

So imo adding all that together would put odds against him contributing much or at all this year. You do get him for a 5 year rookie deal and if could wait it out might have the next number 1 WR to take the torch from Adams for whoever the QB is in GB.

No doubt prior to injury was a good route runner, was good w YAC, and had speed to take it to the house.

The question am having is if. AR back, it's a win now w the window closing and even though this would be a good move for the future of the franchise and a rare opportunity to get a top 10 talent when usually drafting near bottom of every round, would our GM actually make a move like this?

There are needs all over the team now and maybe Gute would choose to fill a different need to help right away?

Though if Williams could play second half of season, could be that weapon that could provide the extra talent to help get the Lombardi. Regardless it is an interesting thought which am sure the fan base would be split over

Nope, No way no how do you draft a WR/CB/ RB with that injury that high. GB doesn't need bargains, we need proven talent day 1.

I like the player and suspect he'll be OK, but it's just not a gamble I'd take with a team that likely is looking for help "now" - especially if they are running it back with AR.

The biggest reason I don't see it though is the Packer's history. That whole Ron Wolf philosophy seems like it still infuses their decision making in Rd-1. QB, LT, CB and DL were Ron's high value positions. He strayed on occasion, and they've seemingly recently expanded it to include safety, but their history says they'll take one of those positions in Rd-1, 80% of the time.

i agree 100%. but it actually sounds like something green bay would do.

If we get rid of Rodgers and Adam's, I'd consider the AL injured Wide Receiver heavily.

If not, I agree. If we're trying to stay in the hunt, we need now not projects

So Pickens (Georgia), Olave (OSU) and Williams (Alabama) , all WR have interviewed with GB. Maybe a tell, maybe a smoke screen, maybe due diligence but interesting

Pickens is a bigger body WR, but he’s coming off an acl as well.
I like Olave, but can he handle blocking assignments in the run game?

We need a guy who is a great player both on the field, and off the field. Real Packer People.
