Yes, but don't the Packers have until March 16 to be under? If he's gone by then (Adams receives offer that Packers decline to match) then it comes off in time, correct?
Once you tag the rule of 51 applies.

from the start of the new NFL league year in early March until the first week of the regular NFL season in September, only the 51 most expensive contracts actually count against a team’s salary cap.

I think once season is over you can't make trades until new league year starts which you need to be under cap by then also.

The last time the Packers put all their eggs into a basket carried by an aging QB was John Hadl. I remember that. This resulted in 15 years, not 5, of bad or mediocre teams. If they do it again, it will happen again.

I hope I am dead wrong but it smells like a desperate attempt by Murphy to stay relevant long enough for him to retire and then he could careless long-term.

Agree 100%

Agree also. And not to mention all the blunders they made for 20 plus years of bad drafting and trades. I used to have saved all the players we could have had in those years drafting and passed over for bums. Players like Okaye and Derrick Thomas are only the tip of the iceberg.

Don't have much faith in Gute and drafting as his failed picks that aren't here show already and players he passed on.

Gute has actually been fine with his early round picks. Gary, Alexander, Dillon even Stokes looks promising. It'd the mid round picks

That's what I was saying earlier. The can mortgage the future because they'll either sink or swim. They know they'll be out the door before anything comes home to roost. They need to be careful.

He tends to trade away mid round picks.
How many 4th rounders has he traded away to move up in the draft?

Mid round is too broad. It's specifically the 3rd round. His 3rd round picks have all been busts, one would think random chance would let him hit on at least one of them...

Gute needs to improve on his late round picks that's were the bulk of your ST players will come from and it's clear he has not been doing well on those picks.
