This is what I was hoping someone would advocate. This will give those kids who had a chance to continue on, and enhance their capability of moving an athletic career forward, will still get this chance. If necessary, increase the number of scholarships by need, then lower it in one year, so it goes back to normal. It will probably lead to more red shirt action, but that's up to the schools, and based on how they wish to move forward. It might also create more quality athletes actually being available to less attractive programs, to make them more competitive. You just don't know if it will improve the quality of the games.

Of course, many who are offered this opportunity might just jump ship for the pros anyhow.
