A handful of interesting decisions to make.
- Pomerantz should be re-signed.
- Lyles . . . maybe. His career numbers are not nearly as good as the numbers he had in his two partial season stints with the Brewers so you have to be careful in how much you are willing to pay.
- Suter makes a nice option as a 5th starter/long reliever.
- Moustakas - yes, bring him back
- Grandal - not so sure unless it's on a 1yr deal again. Getting older and a catcher so I wouldn't commit big money on a multi-year deal. Part of me would rather take his money and spend it on pitching and bring in a journeyman catcher.
-Thames - seems like an easy decision. Maybe you pass if they think maybe Grisham can start in the outfield and they move Braun to first base.
- Shaw - I'd probably give him a small deal. Doubt he'll see much in arbitration after the season he had. Hate to get rid of the guy based on one bad season. Plus he may be another option at 1st base if Thames is gone and Mous is back.

How they put a pitching staff together will be interesting. The starters would seem to be Woodruff, Houser, and Davies. After that things are a little more up in the air. Will Nelson bounce back - I'm not so sure. Lyles if you want to sign him to a deal. You'd love to see Peralta or Burnes seize a spot but that's tough to imagine with the way they pitched this year. Suter as the #5 guy works. I suppose Anderson could be an option, but I'd like to see an upgrade there - a free agent. There are plenty of options for the bullpen. Pomerantz, Hader and Knebel would make a good back end of the pen assuming Knebel can be back at the start of the season or shortly after. Black, Guerra, Burnes, Peralta, Albers and Claudio seem like the other solid options.

Pomerantz- resign
Shaw - one bad year does not make a career so I take the gamble here
Grandal- this is tougher than I thought but I lean towards bringing him back. Gut is FA market will not be kind to him so more affordable than we may think
Moose- no brainer. Not just on the field but off
Thames - yes
Lyles - let him test the market.
Suter - not sure he can start but nice matchup option or set up guy

Rotation - Woodruff, Davies , Houser , Peralta, Burnes. I think Burnes just needs to grow into the spot. He’s got the arm. Always liked Peralta makeup but needs a 2nd pitch

Grandal is going to get paid and Brewers won't be able to afford him. My guess he gets 5 years 75-80 million

Moose I think that's a tough one he will get at least offers of 2 years 30 million or 3 years 45 million.

Shaw my guess Brewers will offer him arb

Pomerantz Brewers will try to resign question is if they can afford it.

I go out get a #1-2 starter. Have the FA, Woodruff, Davies, Anderson be your starters. Burnes and Peralta are not starters and are bullpen arms. Houser could be a 5th starter.

And how do you get a #1 starter? No assets to trade, limited payroll options let’s watch owners collude again also. Grandal won’t see more than 3 years.

THink there is at least #2 quality in FA got to get one might have to spend some but need to improve the pitching Brewers have nothing in the minors to look forward too so got to look at FA

Who? And payroll was already at $125m last year so factor in arbitration you need to get to $140-150m in payroll to be players. 25 other teams have the same issues.
Burnes makes sense to take the next step. Young arm not going to overreact and give up after 1 year.

Burnes seems he's not a guy who can be a effective starter. Give him a couple innings he's fine you ask him to go 3-4 inning is when he seems to get in trouble.

You can’t overreact to one year with a young arm. Now if the trend continues fine look for someone but he’s got the tools. Needs a 2nd pitch
