Here's the thing...he doesn't have to run MM offense anymore. Zero tape on him running this offense, to be fair zero tape of AR running this offense. The upside is that ML has had similar type QB and has seen them adapt to this offense. I don't think Kizer will ever be a top tier starting QB but do think if needed they would adapt the offense around his skill set...unlike Mike who well did nothing other than call the same game plan again and again and yet again.

PS I would have drafted a better backup QB as well sh))

Good point. We don't know how Kizer or Boyle will actually do running our new offense. Giving them a chance at it is probably the best move - now. I too believe they should have drafted someone late who was out there, and who could be a decent career back up. He could have been 3rd man early on, and took over in a year or so as the back up, and possibly been very happy being in GB. I'm still concerned at how quickly Kizer seemed to abandon the play and try to make something happen off script.

On Boyle, if I was to look at one of the two, I think he might be the most interesting person to watch. He will either outshine Kizer, or be dumped early enough in camp so they can bring some other FA in to give them a shot at either being on roster, or practice squad.

At first I didn't like Kizer's cocky attitude, but then I thought about it. If he brings game like he talks game, he could develop into a pretty good option on the roster. Ball is in his court.

Given the choice of backups, I’d take Boyle. Ideally your backup is someone who has some experience and can hold the fort for a couple games. That’s neither of these guys right now. Of the two, Boyle tries to make his reads. Boyle will stand in the pocket and step up, and try to give his guys an extra half second to get open on their route. Boyle tries to throw on time. Boyle can really drive the ball into some tight windows. Of course he also throws wild sometimes too, but overall I think there’s just more to work with and lean on with him.

Wasn’t ML on staff at Norte Dame the year Kizer was a frosh?

Agreed, RP.

Boyle has more pocket presence then Kizer and he came from a smaller school. I have said this before that I think Boyle will outplay Kizer and Kizer will be cut. Maybe the new QB we brought in will impress as well.

Fact is Kizer and Boyle are both garbage backups and could not do a thing if needed.

You have no idea about Boyle yet. He had one preseason which he did well in.

Kizer has had 3 years and has not won anything and has proved he cannot handle the NFL.

Yeah but Boyle has played against 3rd string D's most of those guys are working in a factory after TC.
