Official Week 16 Green Bay vs New York Jets Thread

No matter which way I go on this one, I figure I'm going to be wrong. If the Packers do win it, the game won't mean anything. If they lose it, we're going to hear more about tearing down the team, and dumping everyone who lives or works within 2 blocks of Lambeau Field.

I think the Packers have just enough talent to beat a bottom feeder. Packers 27 Jets 20

They have to win this one. If they don't, there's more wrong than we know. I just can't see them losing to the Jets.

I don’t know about the insinuation here. GB has been this bad before, and relatively recently. They were 4-12 in 2005 and started off 4-8 in 2006. Favre was getting older, they had some key injuries, coaching was stale and the talent level on the team just cratered after years of bad drafts and FA losses. Sound familiar?

I don’t know what “more wrong than we know” could be or needs to be, beyond that there aren’t enough good players right now, which we already know, and even the one we know is good, Rodgers, is underperforming. It’s any given Sunday in the NFL. The Jets can absolutely beat GB under any circumstance and I don’t think it would have more or less meaning than any other loss individually (taken as part of a pattern, this year and previously, is another convo).

They lost to the Cardinals at home.

Love your optimism.

In an arrogant attempt to prove he's still great, Rodgers will go all in on the "big play" and continue to miss, not throw the ball on schedule, not help his young recievers, not help his depleted offensive line, not help his defense, and not help his running backs.

I forgot about the Cardinals game. I'm just thinking that as a team, man to man, that this team should want to prove something or have they just given up on the season? It'll be interesting to see how they play and if we can determine anything from their body language.

I can agree with what you're saying. I shouldn't have insinuated anything more than the obvious, as you have stated. I was thinking along the lines of the locker room and if it is lost or not. I understand the MM firing may have been the culmination of all that you listed but has the locker room been righted?

The hallmark of this team over past 3 seasons or so has been little vet leadership and a mentally weak overall team . So I'm not expecting the team to step up.

Now there have been some that have stepped up and fought like they actually have some pride. But not all.

Absolutely right.

No more Chuck Woodson’s, Donald Driver’, Julius Peppers, Josh Sitton’s, or TJ Lang’s.

Vocal leader in the locker room AND on the field have vanished.

We don't necessarily need a vet.

We need somebody to step up Belushi'like, call out the whiny sniveling nits and there're plenty, and lead them onto the field like Germany had just bombed Pearl Harbor
