Packers will hire Pettine as defensive coordinator

i believe that the packers had genuine interest in fangio. but there are any number of reasons that it didn't happen. not the east of which would be that the interview with pettine went so well that the packers did not feel the need to pursue fangio any further.
Or the West of which could have been an interview with Bradley.....sorry rb, I couldn't resist. I know you would do the same.to me :)

This conversation sure went south in a hurry! rofl(

So our new DC looks like Stone Cold?

Does that mean when a defensive player makes a sack, good hit, etc he will Lambeau 1265 ( vs Austin 3:16)? Lol :)

Couldn't resist ;)

Better question does he turn on MM give him the double finger then kick him in the gut and stun him?

Pettine is also known for making good in game adjustments, which is also something that had been lacking in the Capers defenses (or, at least he was slower to adjust).

I just want to see a defense that plays fast & mean.

Exactly. Good to see you here dannobanano. Welcome!

When pettine was in clev he said he runs his d to the strengths of his players. If he stays true to this its a breath of fresh air. Instead of trying to fit square pegs into round holes maybe we can get the most out of our guys. Between gut saying we need competition so nobody feels safe and a dc that will be involved instead of sleeping in the both we are on the right track. This team has talent and with the right coaching will get back to qhere we expect
Originally Capers said that too.

IDK what capers has to do with Pettine, but then Capers D went stale and we never fixed major problems. When other teams know whats coming or what you are doing you are behind the 8 ball. The league is constantly changing and ole Dom wasn't doing that. That's not a knock on his coaching career as a whole but he sucked down the stretch

Pettine is a different kind of coach then Dom. You can tell he brings more energy to the table. He said he has no interest in being a HC bc it took away being with the guys.
