Brewers 2026 Season Thread

This team just continues to surprise. The lose Woodruff to injury yet again but find a way to take 4 of 5 from a good Cardinals team. They do this despite getting little from their big guns Chourio, Yelich, and Contreras in the series. Their starting pitching and solid bullpen just continue to keep them in games.

hope they can keep it up in the playoffs. right now i feel like they are overachieving. not necessarily a bad thing.

Yup, they are overachieving right now and that's a good thing. Harrison is likely out until 4-5 days after the All-Star break, but we can't be sure. Woodruff is likely out again for a good long while. Means they're likely going to need to overachieve for a while - maybe the rest of the season. I'd put money on this roll coming to an end in the playoffs yet again. That's usually when a team's star players need to take over. The Brewers just don't have many (any?) real "stars" other than young "hopefuls".

i think miz is a star. but can he keep throwing 6-7 innings of 110mph fastballs?

Was never a fan of bringing Woodruff back that was a fan favorite homer decision by the team IMO. After he had surgery few years ago and missed 1 1/2 years should been a sign to move on he was done and he's barely pitched since then. But they made mistake thinking any other team would offer him a deal and gave him a $20 million qualyfing offer if another team signed him he would have gotten a pick. Brewers need to learn to move on from guys and stop holding on to guys to long. Yelich is another guy they need to find a way to move on from. He's awful right now but they refuse to bench him. Murphy even said he needs to keep playing to find a way to get out of his funk.
