Packers re-sign WR Christian Watson (4 years, $110.5 million): C- Grade

If someone told me that Chritian Watson would re-sign with the Packers, I wouldn’t have come anywhere close to this sort of compensation. In a shocking turn of events, Watson will earn $110.5 million over four seasons.

At the risk of getting yelled at by Watson’s crazed father again, this deal sucks. Watson has never topped 620 receiving yards in a single season, and he’s missed 20 games in four years. He also has a recent torn ACL, of course. Watson is very talented, so if he can find a way to remain on the field, he’ll finally produce like a No. 1 receiver. However, we’ve seen no evidence that he can do that over a long period of time.

#Packers President Ed Policy on potentially bringing back the teams former mascot “Packy The Packer” “I can't say we are necessarily bringing him back … but maybe there is an opportunity for some more cameos outside of the schedule release video. We'll give it some thought.”

I don't think we're settled at Back Up Quarterback. I know we grabbed Tyrod Taylor and barring a surprise he's probably number 2.

I think the Browns may let go of Dillon Gabriel. They've got Watson and Sanders (rightly or wrongly) in front of him. I think it would be a good move to look at him if he becomes available. I know he wasn't the stud he was at Oregon with the Browns, but LaFleur's a quarterback Whisperer maybe he could be turned into a good back up for a couple years and become trade bait in a couple years like Willis

regarding the Browns - I'm not so sure Sanders is in front of Gabriel. Yes, Sanders has improved, but the new coach likes that DG knows the offense, can read the defense, and process quickly (all things Sanders struggles with). But the Sanders fans certainly believe he's QB1.
