Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

This won't be popular.

Yes, the Packers are horribly wounded.

However, the Pack wins Saturday if guys do their jobs.
  • Doubs doesn't do his job, No way around it.
  • Nixon blows coverage twice. He's not a rookie. He's been playing every game. He didn't get juked. He blew the coverage.
  • The center and QB screw up a 4th down overtime snap.
Forget everything else. These things are mental mistakes. Good teams don't make those mistakes. Championship teams subs don't make those mistakes. Forget we're walking wounded. If Doubs does his job, Nixon isn't at risk. If Nixon does his job, we were probably close to a heart attack but happy in victory and sad in injury.

This happens all too frequently. Especially, in critical moments.

It happened in the NFC Championship game in Green Bay. (Historically - Holy Cow). And, it happens all too frequently - again, especially in big games in critical moments. It happens so frequently, that unfortunately, I anticipate the Pack to F Up. It's so bad that RP chastised me earlier this season. The Pack are extremely mentally soft.

This is a culture issue. The players are not being held accountable in a way that makes them straighten up and do their damn job. Culture issues start at the top.

LaFleur is a damn good football mind. He knows tons about Xs and Os. He's got a winning record. He seems like a really good man. The players like him - maybe too much. He might be too friendly with them. I don't know. I'm not in that locker room. But, what happens on the field in critical moments is that his players - and I'm probably biased because I really on watch the Packers - make more mental mistakes than other teams and it's not getting better.

Yes, Gute sucks at acquiring physically tough and strong Offensive and Defensive Linemen Linemen, and corner backs. But, what he really sucks at is acquiring mentally tough, smart, and focused football players.

AND, here's the part that will be hated. LaFleur and his coaching staff are not coaching their players to a level where they are not making mental mistakes in the critical moments. Yes, the Pack doesn't have a lot of depth. But, if Doubs, Nixon, and most likely the center don't brainfart we win that game. It's happened too frequently.

I'm not in charge. So LaFleur's safe. But, as good as they are, the mental mistakes are what kills the Pack and they're not getting it done and haven't gotten it done. He's a better than good coach, but he's not a great coach and I just don't see him ever taking us to the promised land.

That was a great article RP. That “fight” other top teams have seems lacking at crucial times.
Crucial? Please tell me when this offensive line or defensive line - excepting Parsons and Wyatt - has fought? This is the Pack's biggest problem. An offensive line is supposed to set the tone, and our's sets a tone of I'm too weak to waddle over to the table to get a donut.

RP why do you hurt me so? Ha Ha!

I am just a knuckle dragged. I'm really disgusted with our team
I don't want to overcomplicate things or overgeneralize. But I do think that if your QB is on the sideline and a defender comes over and shoves his face into the dirt, someone on your team better show up and defend him. That's the rules in hockey - if someone wants to give your star player a knuckle sandwich thats fine, but you better be willing to pay the price. Two weeks in a row defenders took pot shots at out QB with no response. They lost both games anyway, so what if someone gets ejected for defending the QB after the whistle?

People were fond of saying "something is off" in the locker room when Rodgers was the QB. No one was ever specific, which drove me nuts. Well I will say again now, something is off and I'll try to be specific. I think they show a ton of determination and grit, they've never given up, they have each other's back in words. I think there's something selfish to the way they play though. Plenty of guys will take fouls defending themselves, no one willing to take one on behalf of a teammate.
