2025 Badger Football Thread

Barry already doubled down when he blamed the fans a few weeks ago. He's tripled down in the past week again blaming fans and basically calling them uniformed dweebs.

He had to have had a big role in getting Fickell here, Mr. "I don't use search firms, search firms use me" is coming across as a huge ass. Though those of us who've got ties to the Band know he's always been that way. I was just talking to a friend who was in the band during the transition from Leckrone to the new guy and yeah, the Athletic Department didn't even wait for Leckrone to formally retire (at the end of the 18-19 academic year) to begin putting restrictions on the band and changing the way football game days were going to run.

I can't believe we're this far into the NIL era, and Wisconsin is still not taking it seriously.

I said a few weeks ago, we seem to be sitting around a waiting for the process to be regulated and standardized, and then we'll be in a good place. But as there's no sight of that on the horizon, Wisconsin seems content to just slide into irrelevance in the mean time.

He still thinks going around meeting guys and talking to them is how you build relationships and get guys to come to a school. No player gives a rats behind about who the coach is. All they care about is what the NIL payment to them will be. If Barry can't accept that is the way it is now he needs to totally remove himself from the school and go yell at kids to get off his grass.
 
Back to how to Make Bucky Football Again:

Recruiting Quarterbacks:

  • Wisconsin is a farming state.
  • Take Quarterback recruits on a road trip to see a farm.
  • Have them stand 20 feet away from the broadside.
  • If they can throw a football into it, give them a ride back to campus.

But yet have everyone at top the AD, Barry, likely the Chancellor all backing Fickell. Just seems egos who don't want to admit hey we really hyped this guy but he has failed and killing the program. Instead of doing that they just want to bury their heads in the ground and pretend it's nothing major and it will get fixed just lets throw money at it that will fix the issue. While money is a issue there is also a culture problem at the school and that money won't fix.

I don't know Kyle, Brut, or Nortman.

In fact, I've never heard of them. Must be lite/light beer drinkers
