I think that’s why the expected crowds never happened up here in Sturgeon Bay. Even the crappy super 8 jacked up its rates near $300 a night. Nobody is going to pay that to stay an hour away from the draft. The economic impact will not be as much as the outlying areas were expecting.There was no way I was going to pay those ridiculous prices to park, so when I went yesterday, I ended up parking at a downtown ramp and grabbed a shuttle bus that dropped me off at the draft site at about 3pm, and took me back to the ramp at 9:30pm. Total cost to park - $4 (plus a tip I gave to the shuttle driver). Took a little more time, but way more convenient than walking from a local neighborhood.
