Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

The Hobbs deal seems pretty clear cut in terms of what it acomplishes. He is a solid "starter" with slot and outside versatility. You now have 3 adequate starters in Nixon, Valentine, and Hobbs so no need to force a pick in the draft. I don't think it take CB off the board but you don't need to take one if the guys you want aren't there in the first two rounds. Also leaves you the freedom to take a guy like Revel or Morrison even though they might not be ready week 1 coming off injury.

The Banks signing leaves lots of questions and possibilities. Does Jenkins move to OC? Does Morgan come back to compete at RG with Rhyan, or do they kick him outside to compete with Walker? If Morgan gets it done at LT, do you trade Walker for picks next summer/fall? Does that added depth at OT allow them to take one of the injured OT's in the draft knowing they don't need him right away? There are a bunch of ways that OL will play out this summer, it'll be interesting to follow. I also don't think OL is off the board with this. It just takes off the pressure to fill a need.

I also don't think they're done. I'm sure another low level FA, or two, will be added. They also have the CAP space to still get in on a high level guy via trade if there is someone they want and can work out a deal for, though I don't think that's likely.

I still think you need to draft CB high. Nixon, Hobbs, Valentine are more then average. Nixon I am not sold on even being average.

They didn’t take any needs or positions off the table with these signings, but they did bolster the starting groups.

The Green Bay Packers were awarded one draft compensation pick. They will get a pick in the 7th round (250th overall).

For his 2024 play Rasheed Walker got $925,613 the 10th most in performance based pay for low paid players.

Zach Tom ended up getting $849,141 dollars the 20th most in performance based pay for low paid players.

walker was rated the 44th best offensive tackle in 2024. that's a pretty big "performance" bonus for a guy who is not performing very well.
