Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

Saw stat on X from this past season. Gary was GB top playing edge rusher but only played 58.68% of the snaps. Also saw that there are 10 edge rushers making $21 million or more a year. With injury adjustment the 9 played 78.9% of the snaps. Gary played 59.5%.

The Gary contract was a huge mistake. GB paid him elite money without him ever being a elite player before they signed him with them expecting he would become elite and he never has. He's pretty much Clowney 2.0 a guy can flash and dominate at times but never goes 100% all the time but gets overpaid to do so.

I saw that stat too but my reaction was, why the heck isn't Hafley playing him more. Production goes hand in hand with reps and opportunities.

Saw Ken Ingalls comment that he had people comment to him that they have often seen Gary tap his helmet showing that he needed a break. If that is true it's on Gary likely having poor conditioning if he needs to be on the sideline so much.

Yeah I think he has zero interest in a paycut to stay in GB so he will refuse and GB will move on. He will then sign a 1 year prove it deal with some team. I would not be shocked he does a Smith and goes to MN or Detroit to try to stick it to GB. Could also see him go to the Ravens to be with former teammate Lamar Jackson.

On Tuesday, however, Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed that his team made the proposal.

"I know we're not very successful against it, I know that. But to be honest with you, I have not put much thought into it. It's been around for a while," he said at the combine. "We've used it in different fashions with our tight end [Tucker Kraft]. I think there will be a lot of discussions about it. I've got to kind of look at some of the information as far as injury rates and things like that, but we'll see."
