face it. the brewers do not have the kind of revenue it takes to build a championship team. once in a while they get lucky with a player or two who outperforms expectations and they make the playoffs, but they will have to get very lucky to get to a world series.

Thing I hate we always trade off all our good players because we never even make an attempt to sign them before FA.

Attanasio might be frugal, but I suspect it's more what rb posted. Likely, there are teams whose local radio and TV money is more than the Brewers entire revenue. I don't blame Attanasio that much. MLB has created this economic situation and it's not going away any time soon.

Attanasio to me, is better off saving his money for those seasons when it all comes together and you just need another piece or two, but this team is not there. They have a few holes in the line-up and not the strongest rotation. I suspect they are waiting for a few young guys to be ready and then adding a piece or two.

If anything I'm disappointed with the GM. They have traded 3 high level pitchers in 3 years and gotten almost nothing significant for them. If they'd gotten more, they might be in better shape.

Teams know Brewers are backed into a corner they can offer crap knowing in a year they lose them for nothing.
