Yeah guess it will be up to Halfey opinion. Not sure if he lost a step or if he was never a guy to be playing the scheme Barry had. Maybe he is just a run down safety and nothing more. Even then he probably is not more then a #3 safety on this team. Also have to judge if Owens and Johnson have any future on this team.

I’m glad you said something, they are definitely taking what he said about his one year at OSU and painting broad strokes with it. Sure if you had the equivalent of OSUs defense you could play that much man, but you’re not going to see that kind of talent disparity in the NFL. Again, it will be very annoying come September when some idiot hits a viral sarcastic tweet of Packer DBs playing off and says “HaFlEy SaId He WoUlD pLaY pReSs!”
 
I think this article says a lot about where our defense is going. Hafely has decisions to make based on what he wants to run and the personnel he has to run the defenses. He seems to realize it has to be flexible. That said, he does talk to Saleh quite a bit, and I think that could influence some of his decision making.

There are a ton of articles/writers making a lot of assumptions before the man even has his staff set and his family moved. 100% some dingbat will write that based on an article Jimmy Lee wrote in the Cheese Legacy blog ..then his pal Roy lee snozerrhoffer over at the badgers and beer blog will pick on it and blow it up on social media... sigh
 
We'll have a pretty good idea where he's going with it all after the mini camp this spring. He'll be sorting out players and making cursory decisions on how to test them when camp opens. To be honest, I don't think he has anything cut in stone. I think his own comment about trying to make the whole thing player friendly to use their skills to advantage is about the best we're going to get until everything starts unfolding.
 
As expected, DBs coach Ryan Downard will continue in that role, and Jason Rebrovich will coach DL (edge/interior guys will no longer have separate coaches)
 
Rebrovich is also relatively new blood. He spent a while with both the Bills and Jags before joining GB recently

That unit was less than stellar, guys got torched on a regular basis, was hoping for some new blood on the back end.
