One of the leaders of the Chevy Bad Boys is on yet another watch list

Chalk up one more preseason watch list nomination for Wisconsin Badgers outside linebacker Vince Biegel.

The 6'4, 241-pound linebacker continues to rack up preseason acclaim after being named to the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award watch list earlier on Tuesday. It's the second watch list Biegel's name has been attached to, as he was also honored with a spot on the Bednarik Award watch list earlier this month.

Biegel emerged in his redshirt sophomore season in 2014 under defensive coordinator Dave Aranda by leading the team in tackles for loss with 16.5 and racked up 7.5 sacks -- good for second on the team behind Derek Landisch's nine. His talents will be needed alongside fellow outside linebacker Joe Schobert in continuing the performance Wisconsin's defense set last season.

The Lombardi Award is given to a linebacker or down linemen who lines up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage, and is awarded by a 500-member selection committee.

MADISON, Wis. -- After already earning a spot on the Bednarik Award watch list, Wisconsin junior OLB Vince Biegel continues to earn early recognition after being named to the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award watch list Tuesday.

Biegel is one of 145 candidates up for the honor, which is limited to down linemen or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage. All the delegates landed a place on the preliminary list by earning All-America honors, being named to their respective all-conference teams or receiving other 2015 preseason honors.

The Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, native saw action in all 14 games last season and led the Badgers with 16.5 tackles for loss, while ranking second on the team with 7.5 sacks. Biegel helped lead the Badgers defense to a No. 4 national ranking in total defense at 294.1 yards per game, and a No. 17 ranking in scoring defense at 20.8 points per contest.

The Rotary Lombardi Award watch list will be updated prior to the start of the season in order to identify other players who have received preseason honors.

The selection committee, which is comprised of more than 500 members, will periodically update and revise the list to determine the 12 semifinalists. The 46th Rotary Lombardi Award ceremony will be held on Dec. 9 at the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas.
