Wisconsin Badgers junior forward Rose Lavelle has had a decorated career in the Cardinal and White, but it appears things are looking more like Red, White and Blue this summer.

That’s because the United States women’s national team called Lavelle up for a pair of June games ahead of the 2016 Olympic games in Rio. It is her second call up to the full national team, after being a part of their January camp earlier this year.

She was also part of the roster during the World Cup victory tour back in December of 2015, and was also a part of the U-23 roster this past month.

It shouldn’t be surprising though, as Lavelle has been an All-Big Ten staple since arriving in Madison, Wis. and was the 2015 Big Ten midfielder of the year.

That happened after a breakout season offensively for Wisconsin, as she notched a team-leading 17 points on seven goals and three assists. She was also the first Badger to be named a first-team All-American since 1991, Lavelle was also a semifinalist for the 2015 MAC Hermann Trophy, which recognizes the top individual player in college soccer. Lavelle was a second-team All-American in 2014 as a sophomore and was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2013.

Lavelle and the U.S. Women’s National Team will come together May 27 in Denver for a training camp in advance of the USA’s meeting with Japan on June 2 in Commerce City, Colorado. The game will be televised 8 p.m. CT on FS1. The USWNT will then travel to Cleveland for the second leg of the two-game set for a second friendly against Japan on June 5 at 11:30 a.m. CT on ESPN2.
