Report: Former Virginia WR Jamil Kamara 'likely a no go' for Wisconsin

A report from Scout.com says the the talented transfer receiver likely will not be a Badger.

The Wisconsin Badgers football program is looking to add to its group of wide receivers considering the looming departures of seniors Alex Erickson and Jordan Fredrick after the 2015 season.

Unfortunately, it appears former Virginia wide receiver Jamil Kamara may not a part of the Badgers' future passing attack.

Kamara told BadgerNation.com's Ben Worgull on Saturday that he "likely won't be able to play" for Wisconsin, as his transcripts did not meet the university's criteria.

The Virginia transfer informed Worgull that his clearance from admissions was "Not looking so good."

Kamara visited Wisconsin last weekend, though he left Wisconsin without a verbal commitment or official notification from the Wisconsin athletic department of a confirmed transfer.

The 6'2, 210-pound Kamara is a former four-star wide receiver who caught one pass for 6 yards in five games last season for the Cavaliers.

BadgerNation.com reported Wisconsin was Kamara's favorite in early June ($), but it appears that won't pan out.


But after saying he had roughly a 2.55 grade point average in his first year at Virginia, Kamara likely won't get the chance. When asked what UW told him, he simply responded, "admissions is tough."
