The mystery at running back for the Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan State appears to be solved. At least according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, who is reporting that senior running back Corey Clement will make his return to action after missing last week’s game against Georgia State.

Wisconsin RB Corey Clement expected to start today vs. Michigan State

Clement was last seen in the Akron game, where he managed to rack up 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns before halftime. He was injured just before half and did not suit up for the Georgia State game.

Fellow running back Taiwan Deal’s status is unknown yet, as he limped off the field last week with what the team is calling a “right leg injury.” That left redshirt freshman Bradrick Shaw and senior Dare Ogunbowale to handle the carries.

Only Shaw didn’t make it out of that game healthy and will miss the Michigan State game with a shoulder injury suffered late against the Panthers.

The return of Clement, who has 193 yards and three touchdowns on the season so far, is a welcome sight to say the least. Not only is it an extra body in a banged up backfield, but a needed star to help hopefully take some of the pressure off redshirt freshman quarterback Alex Hornibrook, who will be making his first career start for the Badgers.

Kickoff is set for 11am CT on the Big Ten Network.
