Post Game Bucs Defeat Packers 31-26

Kick that extra point, we go,for the TD. St Brown doesn’t drop, that two, point we go for the TD. Rodgers runs to the wide open right side of the field instead of throwing back across to Adams we go for the TD.

ALL the little things we did wrong beat ourselves. And we did them all wrong all game.

Really a perfect summation of this franchise over the past 10 years.

Led by a GM that does almost nothing to improve the holes in the team. Continually drafts for the mythical team of 3-4 years from now. Makes a rare leap in to Free Agency - has it show actual dividends - and then backs off of doing it again for god knows what reason. Feels like he does it once just to avoid the questions from the press/fans "but I did utilize Free Agency with [Woodson/Z Smith]!"

A Defense that depends on opponents making mistakes. A scheme that is good enough most of the time, especially vs the rest of the NFC North. But, against very good teams more often than not can't make the stops it needs to. Way too many 3rd down conversions, can't pressure the QB often enough, and has gaping hopes in the middle of the LB corp that just will not be filled by a franchise that seemingly doesn't value that position at all.

A Special Teams that continually is at the bottom of the league. That has ZERO ability to have any success returning the ball, that far too often gives up big returns at the most inopportune times, and makes enough mistakes every game that the best you can say about them is "Well, they haven't cost us a game yet". Until they do.

And an offense that is led by the best QB in the game and is so goddamned good that he single handedly is able to bail the team out more often than not. But, it's an offense that for the last 5 years has 1 talented WR, and a bunch of inconsistent guys that against very good defenses can't get open. And then they can't get open, it puts pressure on the OL. And that OL is generally up to the task, but when they aren't...

And a head coach that outsmarts himself. No idea why you're chasing points down 5. And I get, in the abstract, the idea of "get 3 here, force them to go 3 and out and win the game in regulation", but I mean with this D?

But at the end of the day for me - if the General Manager of this franchise has no desire to try and improve the team NOW and try to win NOW and try to take advantage of the window they have with AR, then there's no reason in the world for me to be bothered by the loss for more than 10 minutes. And, finally a hearty f$%$# you to Mark Murphy who cares more about saving money for his real estate deals than letting MLF hire the ST coach he wanted to.

It was absolutely clear where this team had issues after getting curbstomped by SF last year. ILB, WRs, DL. And, Gutekunst did zero to address these needs in any significant fashion. I guess you can say he got unlucky that Funchess opted out, but I mean, if that's your bold move... He spent 2 draft picks, including the 1st, to draft the 6th rated QB in the Mountain West. He drafted a 3rd string RB in the 2nd, a position that can be filled in later rounds seemingly every year. He drafted a 4th string TE that most had rated 2-3 rounds later in the 3rd.

Fire Pettine and Menega or don't. Do something in FA to upgrade the holes on this team or don't. Whatever. Being good enough and running a real estate business are the priorities of this franchise. For their sake, they better hope that Jordan Love can be "good enough"

If Pettine and the special teams “coach” aren’t fired in the next 24 hours then Gute and Murphy need to step down immediately.

The defense has been a @#$ show for several years now regardless of talent. I don’t think we’ve had a decent return guy since Roell Preston 20 years ago and our coverage units suck.

If you consider some of the single worst coached and executed plays in Packers history I would say the Pettine/King single high is easily top 3. Bostick onsides and 4th and 26 might be worse.

The 2pt conversion, FG attempt, ref calls, none of it matters if Pettine KEEPS IT IN FRONT OF THEM. I mean, that’s his scheme right? Don’t allow that to happen? No help over the top? After a time out? Pettine should have been canned at halftime.

It’s both. If you are a pro DB you keep the play in front of you at all costs. As to scheme, you might double there but not on #10

I said it before the year started, and will say it again. The Packers can't win scoring less than 31 points. I can't say Pettine's defense was terrible, but I can say that it isn't good enough to hold good

Out now. Cost ML 2 NFCCG. I do not want to hear anyone's talent BS anymore. Play with what you have and dominate. Pettine failed. He better be gone.

Edited: I didn't mean your as in calling out TW or JBlood. I just meant it in a general sense. Changed it to anyone's

That game stunk. Too many brain farts. Pettine, who almost always goes prevent D way too early comes up with the worst defensive scheme with 8 seconds and no timeouts left in the first half. Play inside technique man-to-man here... with KING who arguably isn't talented enough for the NFL? Horrible! You always play zone here and protect the sideline and the end zone. That's 8th grade football knowledge. Amazing.

And then that dumb two point conversion attempt followed up later with the dumber FG. Give Brady the ball back with two minutes remaining and you still need a TD? WOW! Dumb and dumber.

And Rodgers... every big-game clutch situation and he gets frustrated and panics. He gets so one-dimensional and had such bad tunnel vision looking to only Adams at the end, missing Lazard and a running opportunity.

And let's not leave the GM out by forgeting the awful draft and lack of FA that didn't get anyone who just maybe could help tip us over the edge and get us past this championship game. I really thought they were going after Queen when he traded up...

Rant over.

Defense and special teams were exactly what we thought they were.

Our arrogant offense kept trying to throw deep on slow developing plays. Didn't work in week 6. Didn't work today. The best part of our team failed and failed miserably.

Culture my ass. Nobody is accountable. But, somebody will be blamed.

The Pack does not have a Championship culture. Once again they sucked me in. I'm to blame for not learning

After a nights sleep and two cups of coffee here's what I got:

Agree with ML, woulda, coulda, shoulda gets you nowhere folks. The Whining and bitching over a coach that went 26-6 the past 2 years is comical. He got a lot out of what the front office gave him.

The defense is slow as molasses in the middle the same as the past 5 years, we only have one solid CB and our depth is just meh. On Offense, we need a #2 WR badly and no that isn't Lazard or MVS. So why the hell isn't anybody on Gute's hinder ????

The big talk is #12, it should be. He admittedly called the play at the goal line on 3rd down before the FG?? Why? Enough with his majesty thinking he knows better, enough with his sulking on the sidelines and his whiney crap after a loss. Run the play from the sideline unless they change the defense.

Stop worrying about your "MVP stats" and be a leader. 1-4 in these games isn't going to cut it Aaron.

All we need is a home game for the NFC championship... been hearing that forever. Yeah okay, that was a bunch of hokie bologna too.

I say again a lot of soul searching in GB the next 60 days. How it plays out will be very very interesting.
