If you make renovations to your home, that adds value - your taxes go up. Granted, the Packers don't pay taxes "per se" but they do pay a lease that should cover taxes and more. Also . . . . as the Packers on-site revenues go up, wouldn't it make sense for the lease to go up as well? I don't know how much they pay annually to the city . . but look at how much revenues have risen over the past 20 years.The city is the landlord here. GB is a tenant who has made improvements to a property on their own dime and the city seems to be trying to squeeze them for more cash on a lease. I’m naturally inclined to take their side in this situation.
