New Record Set

Not sure many of you understand.. MM didn't flip the switch and "innovate " a damn thing last night. He was out of options and flat out improvised out of need. No play caller in the game( at any level) really is going to dump his offense 6 games in.

That also carries over to your route structure etc... it's easy as hell to sit in front of your big screen and say "adjust the routes" change the offense but once your in your schedule it almost always creates more issues then it solves.

GB will get Davis ready to play RB and heal some injuries but if you think this is a permanent fix then be ready to be disappointed. tc(

Innovation out of Desperation....

If memory serves me correctly before we had viable RB the Packers used to use the pass to set up the run. Now MM tries to run almost too much IMO...at least when it doesn't seem to be working. It was good to see Montgomery getting some good yardage though.

Interesting fact: AR's second game in a row at or over 70% completion rate.

We need to use short, quick crossing routes, outs, ins, RB's out of the backfield, and WR screens. It is like a running game but harder to defend. Belichek and Brady do this every game and then take the deep ball when it is allowed.

Be creative MM and scheme your WR's open. AR and this team will reap the benefits.

Best case right now is following the 2007 model - offense dinks and dunks for a few games until they can establish a run game. WR still having issues - Nelson invisible, Cobb drops - but AR and MM got the ball out on time for one game at least and made it work.

Maybe innovate wasn't the word to use. Maybe awareness and maybe common sense, to take what the defense gives you. He did flip some kind of switch though because the offense operated, or better, EXECUTED quicker. And, it isn't just six games in, it's a year and six games in.
This last game was different. Usually we do okay in the first half then suck for the last 30 minutes. This was different and you can't take my hope away that, at least temporarily, things ARE different (for at least a week). I hope MM suffers an epiphany and uses the short pass to set up the run. I want to enjoy this week. IMO.
