McCarthy says offensive communication was 'horrendous' in first half

the nfl has been having problems with the headsets all year. where have you guys been? multi-billion dollar business that can't even get the simple things right.

Because they refuse to. This is the same league that won't go to full time refs and make a better game because they are too cheap....

The football IQ of our WR may be an underlying and heretofore lightly spoken of issue here. Back in 2011 when teams liked to play us with man coverage, AR and those WR would back-shoulder the crap out of them. There was just no stopping it. At the time you had superb route runners in Jennings, Driver and Jordy who seemed to know what to do at the right time. Game after game Adams just does not seem to get it, and Jones never did. If defenders are going to play tight and turn their back on AR, throw that back shoulder. But you need WR who can make those reads when they're supposed to and be on the same page as AR.

I agree, RP but how hard is it to read that the CB has his back to the QB. We could see that if we were running the routes or have played football at all. It is not rocket science.bh(

I could see the timing being more of the issue here but that should be fixed with playing time with AR.

A little problem... your QB has been off target a lot. Short ..long etc. Remember the man missed a wide open Cobb that cost us a game. It's not just the WR here....

Yes, AR not blameless. He's been not much more than a game manager for most of the season. Technically missing Cobb cost them a chance to win that game (they were down by 8 and still needed a 2pter), rather than costing the game itself. But look at Chicago game, 4 chances from inside the 5, a QB of his caliber needs to score a TD there to win.

WR are still lacking in savvy and playmaking ability, regardless of ARa struggles. It's a lackluster group, lacking anything close to dynamic playmaking ability. You said it yourself the other day - matched up on DBs who all run sub-4.5, you need to get yourself open. Either doing it or not. These guys haven't been.
