Packers brought him in for a visit. While it might have been just for medical and a interview this still surprises me because I thought he would be a guy Ted would not touch at all. Read that some think he will go off the board in the second round. So if that's the case he likely would be gone before Packers pick in 2nd round which means if Ted would feel this kid's talent out weights his crime you either need to try to trade out of the first into the early 2nd get a pick or two and take him or trade up in the 2nd.

Me I think this kid could dominate if he wants to but would he succeed in the fish bowl that is Green Bay being watched so closely by everyone.

The incident he was involved in was 2 years ago. There haven't been any others since. I think he is used to living in a fish bowl. His every move has been watched for the last two years. If he is still around at the 61st pick I hope TT considers it carefully.
Personally, I can forgive a drunken 18-19 year old. It was an isolated instance. Hell, the NFL let Adrian Peterson back in and he repeatedly beat his children with a stick! Took him almost a year to even say he 'might' have done something wrong. Is the difference that we saw it on video? Kind of crazy. I believe he was disciplined by the University and hasn't been a problem since.
We need talent and this kid is talented! Just put behavior clauses in his contract and roll the dice!

I think this visit actually makes some sense. It's the type of visit that would seem to actually get you some return. Kid is really talented. The abuse incident is a red flag that could have him off of many team's boards or at least lower than his talent would suggest.

You bring a guy like this to the facility knowing you might get a steal. You spend time with him. Anyone can fool a team in those short interviews at the combine. Bring him to GB for the day and over the course of many hours, guys tend to become themselves. You get a feel for if he is genuinely a decent guy who did a stupid thing, or a problem child who'll probably cause issues down the road.

Mixon's talent makes him an intriguing guy at pick 61. If you want to trade up a bit to get him, fine, but you have a number of needs and I'm thinking I wouldn't give up much more than a 5th rounder to move up a few spots to grab him.

I would pass on Mixon .... Agree with Kiper for once on weakness outside of the off field issues >

His big games were vs weak Big 12 teams. Better backs can be had in this draft with a lower pick with bigger upside IMHO.

I think some team is going to take him in the second. If I would have to guess I would say the Bengals as they have a history of taking players with off the field issues.
