Minny has had a solid run defense all year and the OL was not up to the challenge. The Goofer defense was making a living on the Badgers side of the LOS. PC had to go with more passing plays than usual because the OL was not getting it done running the ball. It's telling that despite 3 seniors the only OL getting any mention for the upcoming draft is Logan Bruss and his stock is down somewhat, to the point that he'll be a late rounder or maybe not get drafted at all. The Badgers OL is in a real drought right now. Hopefully some new young blood will fix things next year with at least 3 new starters. They better hope it does because they're reputation has taken a hit the last couple of years.
On defense it was said best above. The Badgers play a somewhat risky "downhill" type defense. The safeties are especially prone to looking in the backfield and biting hard on play fakes which leaves the CBs on islands a lot. The CB group is not especially talented. If they don't get pressure they are very susceptible to the deep ball.
