Is fantasy football culture feeding the obsession over Lacy's weight?
For the Green Bay Packers, arguably the most over-hyped storyline of the offseason has been Eddie Lacy's weight. From the P90X reports to people snapping pictures during OTAs, the saga has gone on long enough, and it's nearly time to put it behind us and just move on to training camp.
The Packers themselves are just concerned about Lacy getting back to being the productive running back that he was in 2013 and 2014, as fans should be. Meanwhile, fantasy football players - particularly fans of other NFL teams - are probably also following this narrative with a different thing in mind: their fantasy teams' success. While Lacy was a consensus top-five fantasy draft pick last season, he did not live up to that billing. Of course, with more consistent on-field success will come better fantasy numbers, so if the big back shows up in shape and nimble, everyone should be happy.
