There's plenty of news about current and former Green Bay players today, with a new punter making some waves with his family's connections to the franchise.

Welcome to Tuesday, Green Bay Packers fans, a day which finds us exactly three weeks away from the team's first open practice of the 2016 season. On Monday afternoon, the Packers announced their open practice schedule for OTAs and minicamp, which can be found here. As usual, there will be one open OTA practice in each of those three weeks, while all minicamp practices will be open to the public.

Meanwhile, as the team gets ready to host rookie minicamp this coming weekend, one veteran Packer is completing a great accomplishment: he is becoming the first person in his family to graduate from college. Our hats are off to you, Randall Cobb, for your hard work and dedication!

In addition, we find that one of the newest Packers has a long family connection to the team, but that he will be trying to forge his own path with the franchise. He'll be worried about hang time much more than game time.

Check out all that and more in today's curds.

I'll admit, I had the same thought when the Packers drafted Jason Spriggs - they might be looking at him as the left tackle of the future and Bakhtiari as a replacement for either Josh Sitton or JC Tretter. However, Bakhtiari has shown no indication that there has been any communication of such a plan to him.

Mortell is a hilarious follow on Twitter and had multiple UDFA offers, but decided to come home to Green Bay, where his grandfather was the clock operator until 2000, and where his father now holds the position.

Offensive line bonanza: 5 takeaways from Colts' draft | Indianapolis Star
Back in 2009, the Indianapolis Colts were preparing to make the 27th pick in the NFL draft, confident in the player they had targeted as their first-round choice. Then, Ted Thompson pulled off the most daring trade of his career and snuck up to 26 to take Clay Matthews.

Moritz Boehringer signs rookie contract with Vikings - NFL.com
The German became the first draftee to sign his contract, which makes sense since he needs it to obtain his work visa. His contract should be worth a total value of about $2.5 million with a signing bonus just over $150,000.

This was probably the best moment on day three of the draft, and it was captured on video by ESPN.
