Why is another safety with lesser numbers getting Hall of Fame consideration over the Packers legend?

The Green Bay Packers approach the 2016 offseason with plenty of cap space to be flexible in free agency. Of course, that means little regarding whether or not they will be big spenders this offseason, but it is at least a theoretical possibility. In today's cheese curds, we find examinations of the Packers' biggest-name player to be hitting the market this spring as well as one potential free agent target for Ted Thompson.

Meanwhile, the recent Pro Football Hall of Fame elections have one Packers writer frustrated. A certain Packers player has a better resume than one recent Hall Finalist, but for whatever reason this player cannot seem to generate any significant support for the game's highest individual honor. We at Acme Packing Company agree that this is an injustice towards both this player and his position, and hope to someday see him in the running for a bronze bust in Canton.
