Why Wisconsin Badgers fans should know Beth Goetz, and why Rebecca Blank might consider her a strong candidate to take over as UW athletic director

Personally, I'd take Troy Vincent because of his connections. But both Pawlik and Goetz would be great choices as well.

This would be my list of finalists. Now Ms. Blank has to make the right choice. Please! Be one of them.

Frazier or Pollard for me. I love Troy but I don’t think he makes the move unfortunately

There could be a lot of PC going into this choice. It is Madison. I hope not. I believe the best person should get the job

I couldn't agree more. Each of these people has the credentials. Hopefully there would be no problems.

That’s not Blanks style. Clearly The Emperor is not getting much pull

How much is Blanks choice and how much is board memebers and rich alumni donors having a say in the choice?
90% Blank. She named a committee to assist in the search but that’s it

That being said McIntosh seems out of it, he was not the popular choice amongst some boosters and alumni

They're feelings about the choice will have some sway on the decision, regardless of what any of us want to believe. The life blood of a successful athletic program goes through the fund raising process to help support the system.

I'd guess she'll weigh it enough to make a well calculated decision. As far as McIntosh, if he's not chosen, he'll obviously end up getting an AD job somewhere else, and will move on not long after the decision.

I'm not certain if Alvarez was really pushing him for the job that much. But, if he was, and Blank eliminated him automatically, she obviously wants to change the culture within the program, whether it's good or bad.

In a way, that scares me. It could dramatically effect the entire program.
