I need all the plays to work all the time, and when they don’t I need someone to blame. Is that so damn much to ask?!?

Bud I think you’re misreading. That’s just my inner fan talking honestly, while I also acknowledge how unreasonable that is. No more no less.

In 2010, the Packers were 10-6, and beat the Eagles 21-16, Falcons 48-21, and Bears 21-14. They were on the road as the 6th seed, for every game. In the Super Bowl, they beat the Steelers 31-25.
You may not see the similarities, but I do. They had holes in that line up due to injuries, and they never put anyone away in games until they played the Falcons in the playoffs. They just plain didn't look like a team of destiny.
I'm not saying this team is just like that team. I'm saying there are enough similarities in their style of play that they find ways to overcome their own weaknesses, through their own perseverance. It's just possible this team is better than what we want to allow ourselves to believe. Sometimes statistics don't really tell the whole story. Sometimes it's just what we see on the scoreboard at the end of a game.

We will be perfect in every aspect of the game. You drop a pass, you run a mile. You miss a blocking assignment, you run a mile. You fumble the football, and I will break my foot off in your John Brown hind parts and then you will run a mile. Perfection. Let's go to work.

To me it seemed like after we scored the 2 td's in Q3, the offensive line started to struggle. The Bears defense picked it up a notch, but our OL didn't match that intensity and the offense sputtered.
The good:
- They won another close game. That's been their M.O. this year and there's nothing wrong with that.
- The defense put pretty steady pressure on Trubisky. Not a ton of sacks but they were in his face a lot.
- The offense had a nice rhythm for about 4 drives. The rest were kinda ugly again.
- They were able to stop the run pretty effectively.
- The O-line blocked well almost the entire game.
The bad:
- The coverage lapses continue but they weren't as egregious this week.
- The tight ends. They did almost nothing. 3 catches for a combined 11 yards.
- The wide receivers not named Adams. Sure, 1 really nice play from Kumerow but otherwise not much to talk about.
The ugly:
- MVS . . . a bad drop and a total non-factor after that.
- Jones' blitz pick-up. He got completely trucked on a couple of plays late in the game.
- Aaron taking a stupid sack after the Lowry interception. You can't take a sack there. A FG would have ended the game.
Happy with another win, though I just don't see a team of destiny here. Hopefully they win a home playoff game.
A couple of things frustrated me.
- The dumb naked bootleg early in the 4th quarter. That play was part of MM's arsenal as well. It works once in a while, but too often it's a total mess. Yesterday they ran it to Mack's side and AR just gets buried. ML needs to just delete that play, or at least not run it against athletic edge guys like Mack unless you at least chip them. Pick your spots better.
- Aaron Jones being in the game on that second last drive. That was the spot for Williams. He can get you positive yardage running the ball to make the FG shorter. He's better at blitz pick-up and is still an adequate receiving option. Jones' pass blocking was a hot mess on that drive.
- Jamaal Williams being in the game on the last drive. You were not going to pass the ball. Have your best runner in the game. A single first down there seals it and the best RB option to get you 10 yards on 3 plays is Jones.

I'm definitely happy about the win, but during the game, I kept harping about how, at 21-3, they went into a shell of themselves. Maybe I'm being too hard on the Packers and not giving enough credit to the adjustments of the Bears. Packers were dominating and then just went stagnant with about 6 or 7 minutes left in the 3rd. It was frustrating to watch as they seemed comfortable with just running straight into the teeth of the Bears defense in hopes to burn out a quarter and a half of game clock.

The more you watch this team the more apparent it is that the personal on the field does not fit the scheme on both sides of the ball. Some of the inconsistent play comes from that and since there are a lack of playmakers on both sides especially offense it’s difficult to put a team away.
it’s difficult to get a consistent rhythm when Adams is the only guy on offense that you can trust making a play. While Jones can be dynamic he’s inconsistent and his pass pro has a lot to be desired. TE play is pedestrian at best
On defense it’s The Smiths or nothing except in real short spurts. Again personal does not really fit the scheme and that causes lapses
11-3, some house money left to play. Playoffs are all about matchups so hard to tell how deep this team goes. Everyone has flaws and warts.
