And you have to ask what’s the alternative at the same time. The alternative probably guarantees you no playoffs

Bad contract though can prevent you from fielding a comptetive team

How long his knees/body hold out is probably why he wants, what he wants.

He knows, with his style of play, he has a smaller window to hit the jackpot as compared to Rodgers or Brady.

But for that same reason (style of play) I can see the team(s) balking at a large/full guarantee
