I was kinda hoping he would draft Kyle Murphy. Didn't think he would after nabbing Spriggs. Guess TT saw the same horrible backup OT play last year we did, eh? Glad he got both of them. Much needed.

Maybe getting a little ahead of myself, but on the surface it sure looks like we got rid of the OT depth problem in the last 24 hours. Spriggs could certainly challenge for a starting spot as soon as this camp. If Bulaga or BahkT breaks down he might steal a starting job. Murphy doesn't need to contribute right away, but with his background at Stanford and the type of offense he came from, you have to figure the game won't be toooo different for him.

I'm going to look forward to pre-season games this year to see if that 2nd o-line group can play at a high level and give the offense some solid play. I feel pretty good about Spriggs-Taylor-Tretter-Barclay-Murphy holding up and giving Hundley some clean looks. Makes it easier to evaluate the QBs, WRs and RBs when the defense isn't pouring through the line at the snap of the ball.

With these two OT taken now all I have to say to Don Barclay is

From Bleacher Report: "Kyle Murphy's 92.9% run block success was the 9th-best rate among OTs in the NFL draft"

Think Ted landed some good ones this year. hof(
